You don’t have to prove yourself here - Affordable AND accessible exercise

From an Instagram video I shared about our current funded programme, I was asked a question, and it made me realise we aren't clear enough with you all about how much we don't want your finances to be a barrier to accessing our classes.

“What proof do I need to give you to show I’m on a low income?”

And the answer is… none.

At Mobilates, we don’t ask for proof.

Because the truth is, so many of our members are already exhausted from having to prove themselves everywhere else.

  • Proving their disability for PIP.

  • Proving their needs for Access to Work.

  • Proving their mobility issues for a Blue Badge.

  • Proving they are “unwell enough” not to work.

Over and over again 😖.

It’s not just paperwork and assessments where you are being scrutinised for every movement. It’s emotional. It’s draining. It can feel dehumanising. And for many people, it becomes a barrier in itself.

I'm currently being reassessed for a Blue Badge and it's just the worst feeling having to prove you CAN'T do something, when everything in me wants to say but I really want to be able to wherever possible.

When I first started Mobilates, I made a very conscious decision. We are not going to be another place where you have to justify yourself.

We trust you.

If you tell us that money is tight, that’s enough. If you tell us you need support, that’s enough. If you tell us this would help you, that’s enough.

No forms to prove your income. No hoops to jump through. No added pressure.

Because accessing something that is good for your body and your wellbeing shouldn’t come at the cost of your dignity.

Thanks to funding from Sport England and The National Lottery, we’re able to offer our LAEP programme (Low-cost Access to Exercise for People with health conditions).

This includes:

  • A free 4-week programme combining Bed Pilates and Pain Reprocessing Therapy

  • A supportive, understanding environment with teachers who have lived experience

  • Up to 4 months of free or subsidised Mobilates membership afterwards

And beyond that, we offer ongoing subsidised memberships, ranging from £10 to £30 per month, alongside our standard memberships.

We’ve worked hard to make Mobilates as accessible as possible. Not just physically, but financially and emotionally too.

Because for us, accessibility isn’t just about adaptations in class. It’s about removing barriers wherever they exist. Including the invisible ones.

We know what it’s like to live in a body that doesn’t always cooperate. We know what it’s like to fight for support. And we know how much it matters to feel trusted, not questioned.

So when you come to Mobilates, you’re not walking into any old service that is trying to make money from you. Our members, funders and other supporters keep us all going.

You’re walking into a community that gets it and where your word is enough.

If you are reading this before Tuesday 2nd June 2026 you can book onto LAEP here. Alternatively you can book a free one to one with Leanne, our Founder to get started with any of our classes for affordable and accessible exercise.

Mobilates CIC provides inclusive, adapted exercise for people living with long term health conditions, chronic pain, fatigue and disability.

We create safe, welcoming spaces to move, connect and build confidence in what your body CAN do, whether you join a class in person, online, or from your bed. We’re led by lived experience and powered by community. Together, we’re redefining what movement can look like.
