Meet Santana, one of our incredible lived experience teachers who first joined us as a member. She is now a qualified Qigong Instructor and we are honoured to have her teaching on our timetable.

Santana writes:
Being neurodivergent myself, I know how much energy it can take just to show up to a class. The space might feel too bright, the instructions unclear, or the pace overwhelming. Sometimes, it’s not the movement that’s the challenge - it’s everything around it.
Over the years, I’ve learnt what helps me feel safe, supported, and able to get the most out of practice. I also listened to clients who told me the same: that wellness spaces can feel inaccessible, even when the intentions are good.
That’s why I created the Neurodivergent Protocol. It’s not a rigid set of rules, but a living guide, part information, part guidelines, part ideas, designed to make classes more inclusive and less stressful. Things like having visible schedules, giving options for sensory needs, offering clear instructions, and creating space for authentic expression rather than masking.
This protocol comes from lived experience, trial and error, and community feedback. It’s here to help practitioners and clients so that sessions can feel more welcoming and effective for everyone.
✨ Take a look at the protocol linked below and if it speaks to you, we’d love your feedback. Together, we can shape it into something that truly supports our community.
