Special Classes Support

Background:
Like many zebras I have always been bendy & did gymnastics from an early age. However! It also stopped at an early age due to constant injuries. I then trained as a Legal PA and worked for a law firm until moving to Germany to work for the British Armed Forces, which is where I settled down & raised my family. I have two wonderful children but it wasn’t until I was pregnant with my second child that things started to go wrong.
So many issues from “pubic symphysis” to “dislocated pelvis” and my journey with surgeries began.
Many many surgeries & so much pain until finally being diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and rushed into neurosurgery due to the extensive Syrinx in my spinal cord! Even after all this, STILL I wasn’t told about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. It was another 4 years before I found out ‘by chance’ during a conversation online with another Chiari sufferer. Constant denial or help or support by our medical system left me feeling so desperate for help and understanding and I was so desperate, I wasn’t sure I could keep fighting everyone…. this is where Mobilates comes in….
I’m so passionate about Mobilates because IT WORKS!!
Not only has it got me out of my bed & my wheelchair onto my feet, it has reduced my pain levels & enabled me to function better, which is a miracle in itself!!
I found a real community of amazing intelligent kickass people who have all had a similar experience to me & all totally understand what it’s like living the way we zebras have to! Finding a community of friends who all understand and don’t tell you you’re wrong all the time, like the doctors do! They all understand & I’ve found not only the will to live, I found my sense of humour again (it had been buried deep for many years of awful treatment by the medical profession) .
I’m passionate about volunteering because I know first hand how much I really needed help & I just couldn’t find any help anywhere for this medical condition that nobody knows about. My body doesn’t work like a “normal” body and so I’m constantly told I’m wrong by doctors. I now feel validated and supported in the Mobilates community and I know I can get through a day safely & be a good mum to my two wonderful children.
